Ophel stores all your data locally in your browser. The backup and restore tools in Settings → Backup & Sync let you export that data as a JSON file for safekeeping, move it to another device, or wipe everything and start over.
Export a backup
Three export types are available. Choose the one that fits what you need to preserve:
| Export type | What’s included |
|---|
| Full backup | Everything: settings, prompts, conversation metadata, folders, tags (and optionally Claude Session Keys) |
| Prompts only | Your prompt library |
| Settings only | All configuration items |
Use Full backup before making any large configuration changes or before clearing your data. It’s the safest snapshot to fall back to.
Import a backup
Drag and drop a JSON file onto the import area, or click it to open a file picker. Ophel validates the file format before writing anything. Once the import is confirmed, the page refreshes automatically to apply the new configuration.
Importing overwrites your existing data. Export a backup of your current state before importing a file from another device or an older snapshot.
Clear all data
Settings → Backup & Sync → Clear all data deletes every piece of data Ophel has stored locally — prompts, conversation metadata, folders, tags, and all settings — and returns the extension to its initial install state.
This action is irreversible. Export a full backup before clearing if you want to preserve anything.
